Cancer has been identified as a silent killer in our community especially because of low level of awareness, late presentation and diagnosis and lack of affordable facilities for cancer management. This affects the people and has a negative impact on the workforce thus burdening the business enterprises and government agencies. It is estimated that over 60 people die from Cancer every day. No cure for Cancer has been effective to date. If awareness is emphasized, Cancer can be eradicated to the minimal. Thus the community must be sensitized more about cancer in order to save lives.
In this regard, Cancer Awareness Centre of Kenya have organized a FREE CANCER SCREENING AND AWARENESS EVENT to be held on 11th July, 2015 at Mahiga Primary School grounds at Kahawa West - Kamiti Road from 8.00am. Hon. Isaac Waihenya, MP for Roysambu Constituency and immediate MCAs will officiate the opening of the event.
About 3,000 people will be expected in the event. Sponsoring this event will have a remarkable impact on the lives of many people. It will help reduce material and emotional costs that cancer treatment entails and shall enlighten the communities about cancer and other lifestyle diseases..
